My Favorite Thing is Monsters Reaction

So... I'll start by saying that I really didn't like this book all that much. I was confused for the majority of this graphic novel and I didn't understand where it was going. The content of this novel made it hard for me to read. Which, really is too bad because I also see the positives in this book. While I might not have enjoyed what I read, I see the time that it took to create this book. The images and artistry is phenomenal. The details in the sketches are so clear and I enjoyed looking at them. I just wish I understood what was happening more often. One other thing that bothered me was the randomness of the coloring. I couldn't ever find out whether or not there was a reason some of the book was done in color, and some was done in black and white. The changes seemed sporadic to me. I didn't sense a theme of why one page was completely black and white, and why another one ended up being in full color. Maybe I was missing something, but that stumped me and distracted me from the story itself. Overall, this was probably one of my least favorite books we read in this class, (if not my least favorite.) However, I do want to point out that I appreciate the images and the thorough details. I recognize how much hard work that this must've taken.
